Alexandre Silvério

CEO & Founder - Bassoon Lesson

Alexandre Silvério is one of the few bassoonists in the world who plays both Classical and Jazz. He is the principal bassoonist of the São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP), but also a very committed jazz bassoonist.

At the age of 22, he won an audition to be part of one of the most important orchestras in South America: São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra (OSESP)

In 1999, Alexandre was awarded a scholarship from the Vitae Institute to study at the “Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin”, with bassoon legend Klaus Thunemann. In 2002, he was accepted into the Berlin Philharmonic Academy (Karajan Akademie).

In Berlin, he played with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, where he also had the opportunity to work with some of the best musicians and conductors of our days, like Seiji Ozawa, André Previn, Mariss Jansons, Pierre Boulez, and others.

In addition to playing with OSESP, Alexandre teaches at the prestigious “Academia de Música da Osesp” (Osesp Academy of Music), is part of CAMALEON BASSOONS and is part of a jazz group named after himself.

His discography includes “Bachianas Brasileiras N.6” (BIS 2007), “Mágoas de Fagote” (CD BABY,2008), and “Entre Mundos – Alexandre Silvério Quinteto” (Alexandre Silvério, 2015)

Trusted and approved by students around the world.

“Alexandre is a fantastic teacher and coach with a big heart. I first discovered him after listening to his CD Entre Mundos and I wanted to have more fun and learn about jazz and improvisation. Playing jazz helped me with classical playing. I really benefited from his weekly planner, tips on stretching and self-care as I recovered from a shoulder injury. Despite the distance-Alexandre helped me find a new direction and focus in my playing. I recommend his course to anyone seeking new insights into bassoon playing, you are in good hands!”

“My name is Fábio Szabluk, I’m a member of the Bassoon Lesson, with the teacher Alexandre Silvério.
I find the site well – organized, coherent, easy and fast when you navigate through the links, videos, and tutorials. The course has a lot of content. The lessons are very good, and it’s possible for the student to clarify any doubts directly with the teacher. The modules are really complete, and the Alexandre Silverio’s initiative is excellent. Congratulations, Professor Alexandre!

I’m really enjoying the lessons, in December I did an orchestral audition, and, because I was on a school break, Bassoon Lesson was my source. The “bassoon fundamentals”module was essential. For the audition, I should play any method, and I chose “Milde 1” – which there is a lesson on how to play it well. The audition was for the Baccarelli Institute – Orchestra and I passed the first phase. In February is the second phase.
I played with my own reed, which was made according to your orientation, and worked very well!
Now I want to go deep in the jazz lessons. At the beginning of the jazz course, I thought it would be very difficult, but in the first lessons, I’ve noticed that step-by-step, is really possible to play jazz. And that is also good for musicality.
